Adrinelle Chiesa García is a Puerto Rican soprano and oboist, recognized by Opera News for her “technical brilliance and dramatic abandon.” She has performed twice at Lincoln Center as Alice in Unsuk Chin’s Puzzles and Games and as a soloist in Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia, both with Mannes Opera and the Mannes Orchestra. Chiesa has also appeared twice as a soloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra.

 

Her recent performances include María in West Side Story at the American Gothic Performing Arts Festival in Iowa, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni with The Opera Next Door in Brooklyn.

 

She also appeared in the New York premieres of David T. Little’s Vinkensport and Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Hildegard with Mannes Opera and the Mannes Orchestra. She was featured on WQXR in the recital From Canon to Creation: A Celebration of Mannes Opera.

 

Deeply committed to her roots, Chiesa is passionate about performing and advocating for Latin American, Spanish and Puerto Rican vocal repertoire. Her artistic work also includes a song cycle based on poems by Puerto Rican women poets, created in collaboration with pianist and composer Sergio Cordero.

 

In addition to her performance career, she has over four years of experience as a voice and oboe instructor, providing both individual and group instruction to students of all ages and levels.
